Kasshiki represents a young temple acolyte and is used in Jinen Koji and Kagetsu. The identifying hairdo of acolytes is bangs. The large Kasshiki mask has straight bangs, the middle Kasshiki has flared bangs that spread in the center of his forehead like those shown here, and the small Kasshiki has a narrower version of the flared style. Otsuki Kokun's Kasshiki seen here combines the youthful (feminine) traits of loose strands of hair descending to the sides of the cheeks and a gentle smile exposing the blackened upper teeth with a masculine rendition of the thick eyebrows with an upward lift at their outer edges and sharply delineated almond eyes with round pupils.
