The mask of a young woman worn for Kongō-school shite roles portraying young women. The model for the mask is said to have been made by the actor/carver Kongō Magojirō in the image of his wife. Similar to Ko-omote but somewhat older: the face is slimmer, the mouth a little broader, the cheeks less full. The hair is brushed as two lines from the part, four from midway down. Otsuki Kōkun's rendition here mimicks the aging cracks on the original. (MB)
