| Group Description:「歌舞伎十八番」の中の「暫」は、現在行われる歌舞伎の荒事の代表的なものの一つである。「暫」は<1>市川団十郎によって創設され、江戸の顔見世興行では、主に市川系統の役者によって必ず上演される演目であった。主人公の役名はその時に応じて変わったが、その筋はほぼ一定しており、悪の公卿が服従しない善良な男女の首を手下に切らせようとすると、花道の揚幕から「しばらく」と声がかかり、紅で隈取をとり柿色の素袍に長い太刀を着けた主人公がゆうゆうと登場して悪人の首を一太刀ではねた後再び花道を引き返すという単純明解ものである。この絵では真正面を向いてにらみつけた<9>市川団十郎が描かれ、その迫力は数多い「暫」の絵の中でも際だっているといえるだろう。 |
