| Group Description:本図で二代目市川門之助が手に持つのは髪結の道具入れで、ここから髪結役を演じた時の絵だと考えられる。門之助が髪結を演じた上演を探すと、上記上演に行き当たった。天明初年頃は春章の落款が楷書体から行書体に移行する時期にあたり、その点を考慮すると微妙なところであるが、現在は他に手掛りもなく、上記上演時のものと推定しておきたい。くめとしは、髪結かんざしの甚五郎に身をやつして景清探索に乗り出す。この時の門之助の扮装は、大名縞の単物に肩と裾に四つ紅葉と抱き若松を染め抜いたもので、大変評判をとり、女性たちの間では、この染めの浴衣を着て湯に行くのが流行となったという。 |
