| Group Description:文化12年夏、三代目中村歌右衛門が江戸から上方に帰る際に、一世一代御名残狂言として、10演目を10日替りで次々に上演しようという企画が持ち上がった。本図はその時の御名残狂言を題材としたシリーズの一枚。このシリーズは他に『うつぼさる』、『大塔宮曦鎧』、『返魂香』（吃の段）、『返魂香』（大門口の段）、『三略巻』、『御所桜堀河夜討』、『凱陣紅葉』、『本朝廿四孝』（勝頼）、『本朝廿四孝』（横蔵）など10種が確認され、上演予定の10演目がすべて出揃っていないところをみると、同じシリーズの絵はまだ他にもあったかと想像される。 |
