(Walter:) In 1655 editions of the Atlas Sinensis were published in Dutch (maps blank on reverse), and German, and as part six of Blaeu's Novus Atlas in Latin, French and German. From 1659 through 1663 it appeared in Spanish, Latin, Dutch (verso blank) and French (verso blank) as part of Blaeu's Atlas Major. The map continued to be issued in its original state well into the late 17th C. After the fire at Blaeu's workshop, the plate was sold, and other imprints were engraved by the privilege. For a 2nd state with imprint by Pierre Mortier see OAG 59; for a third state with imprint by de Wit for Covens & Mortier, as well as for a fourth state without privilege, see OAG 67.
