| Group Description 激しい雪の中を再び旅立つ当吾を妻と子供が家の窓から見送っているが、当吾を演ずる<4>小団次の陰のある表情は、この場にいかにも相応しい。この後、窓の中に妻子を配し、舞台下手から花道へと移動していく舞台であるが、花道の当吾をアップに描き劇空間の奥行を感じさせる別作品もある。当吾の直訴の後、妻おみねは拷問にあい、幼い三人の子供も惨殺される運命にある。 Indivisual Description 役割番付では「当吾忰藤太郎」。 | |||

| Group Description 本作は、佐倉宗吾の義民伝を歌舞伎化した最初の作品で、当時大評判であった柳亭種彦の合巻『偐紫田舎源氏』と綯い交ぜにしたものである。八月から始った興行は、十月まで続けられる程の大当たりで、宗吾（当吾）役を演じた<4>市川小団次の代表作となった。この場面は、直訴の決意をした当吾の<4>市川小団次が雪の中を故郷に戻り、妻子に別れを告げる場面。この子別れの場面は大変な評判であったという。父に取りすがる子供の姿が哀れである。 Indivisual Description | |||
